Bethany Mayer is the Chair of the board of Box and serves on the boards of Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Lam Research, Astera Labs, Mainspring Energy, Securonix and Celestial.ai. Her past boards include Sempra Energy, Marvell Technology and Ixia. Bethany is the former president and CEO of Ixia, a publicly traded global company and the market leader in test, visibility, and security solutions. During her tenure at Ixia, she drove its growth in key new markets and led the sale of Ixia to Keysight Technologies. Prior to Ixia, she was senior vice president and general manager of HP’s Networking business unit, which included the former 3Com, HP ProCurve, Tipping Point, and H3C, a Chinese subsidiary. Bethany served as senior vice president of marketing and product management for Blue Coat Systems. Previously Bethany held leadership roles in product development at Cisco Systems and Apple. Bethany was recognized in 2025 by WSJ as one of the Top 250 Most Influential and Effective Board Members and in 2022 with the NACD Directorship 100 award. Her awards include 2018 Distinguished Alumni Award, CSUMB, 2017 Global Leader of the Year, Women in IT, and 2015, 2016, 2017, Stevie Award for Outstanding Female Executive in Business.
