Mainspring Energy

Adam Simpson co-founded Mainspring and leads the company's commercial sales, as well as product, public affairs, marketing, and project delivery. He was actively involved in the design of the Mainspring Linear Generator from the founding of the company through its commercial launch in 2020, and has led the company’s expansion into the commercial and industrial, data center, and utility markets. Prior to Mainspring, Adam was a recipient of Global Climate Energy Project funding to advance analysis techniques for making decisions in energy, with the goal of guiding economically and environmentally sound investments and policies in a complex and evolving sector. Adam has consulted for Sandia National Laboratory and energy-focused venture firms in Silicon Valley. He holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Lafayette College and an M.S. and Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Stanford University.
